Why the Crisis of Unhappiness & Mental Illness Both Inside and Outside The Church, Even Pre-Covid, Despite So Many "Experts"?

Because solutions to detox fear of man stress aka social stress don't exist. Why? Because most don't have a pure walk with God.

Proverbs 4:18-27,

     The path of the righteous is like the morning sun,

       shining ever brighter till the full light of day.
     But the way of the wicked is like deep darkness;

       they do not know what makes them stumble.

     My son, pay attention to what I say;

       turn your ear to my words.
     Do not let them out of your sight,

       keep them within your heart;

     for they are life to those who find them
       and health to one’s whole body.

Above all else, GUARD your heart,

       for everything you do flows from it.
     Keep your mouth free of perversity;
       keep corrupt talk far from your lips.
     Let your eyes look straight ahead;
       fix your gaze directly before you.
     Give careful thought to the paths for your feet
       and be steadfast in all your ways.
     Do not turn to the right or the left;
       keep your foot from evil.

What is the #1 sin that we must GUARD our hearts from?

A: “for they loved human praise more than praise from God.” -John 12:43

God warns us over and over and over to not commit the sin of fear of man.

-And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him [God] who can destroy both soul and body in hell. -Matthew 10:28. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. -Prvs. 9:10

-The fear of man brings a snare, But he who trusts in the Lord will be exalted. -Prvs 29:25

-Then Saul said to Samuel, “I have sinned; I have indeed transgressed the command of the Lord and your words, because I feared the people and listened to their voice. -1 Sam. 15:24

When we seek human praise first more than seek God first (Matt. 6:33), we will always be poisoned by the sin of fear of man — and suffer fear of man stress, or clinically speaking, social stress/psychosocial stress: by far, the most frequent and toxic stress by a 10 times magnitude of force over all other stress.

Fear of man stress/social stress is the leading cause (by far) of unhappiness, mental illness and chronic sickness.

The #1 sin to GUARD against is fear of man, including seeking praise from man.

God warns that fear of man is a prideful sin and a dangerous trap (Matt. 10:28). This is true eternally and temporally. Fear of man also causes us to practice another grave sin, idolatry: the prideful sin of loving Pleasure, Possessions and Power — in the form of position, popularity and people to use.

Walking in habitual idolatry is the opposite of a pure walk with God. Idolatry causes more fear of man stress/social stress, emotional isolation, loneliness, anxiety, addiction, depression, and chronic sickness.

Today, medical and clinical science reveals that fear of man stress/social stress is the most frequent and harmful stress —10 times more toxic than all other stress.

What's the Cycle of Sickness

In the digital age, each of us is attacked 3,500 times per day with an onslaught of social stress.

In addition, the common go-tos; from psychotherapy (including pastoral counseling), “support groups,”

“self-help,” mindfulness to prayers don't lower social stress and even can raise it.

So, is there a predictable and sustainable solution to lower social stress...?

Just one. And it was modeled by Jesus Himself when he was utterly distressed and despondent at the Garden of Gethsemane (Matthew 26:37-39).

And taking with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, he began to be sorrowful and troubled.

Then he said to them, “My soul is very sorrowful, even to death; remain here, and watch with me.”

And going a little farther he fell on his face and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it be possible,

let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will.”

Medical and clinical disciplines and the Bible's doctrine say, there is no better medicine and nutrition than Christ's Gethsemane practice — done at least once or twice per day, for only 10-minutes!

However, studies show, nearly all of us don't have enough “Peters and the two sons of Zebedees” to confide in every day. And, we all lack a 10-min framework for properly and safely sharing emotions.

Discover the fun, easy and safe way to model Christ's emotion sharing practice at Gethsemane!
